About Gail Smith

I’m fortunate to have spent over 25 years of my working life doing what I love most  - helping people change their unhealthy behaviours and move towards a more fulfilling lifestyle.

I started in the health and wellness industry delivering nutrition and fitness training to groups and individuals. 20 years ago a severe back injury led me to yoga. 2 years later, I qualified as a registered Yoga teacher. My interest in Mind - Body wellness developed and led to further training in Mindfulness and Meditation. 

I once read “ medicine is good at changing chemistry but not good at changing behaviour - only you can change your body’s behaviour”  

It was the last part of that saying and my experience of managing my back injury that led me to further explore the concepts integral to wellbeing drawn from yoga, mindfulness, psychology, neuroscience and movement.

My passion - integrating those concepts to create educational and practical wellness programmes for change. Programmes underpinned by a key aim - to empower the individual to develop a personal approach and discover ways to shift away from the patterns that hold back their growth. 

In 2015 I was invited by a Field Marketing Company to present at their annual sales event. The subject - your spine and your health -  it was my first workplace wellness programme. 2 years later Wellness WorkSpace was founded.

I truly believe the managing of our wellbeing determines our quality of life. Self care is not something you do when you have time, it’s something you make time for - it’s a state of mind. It’s about learning simple skills and making a commitment  “ to take care of your body, it’s the only place you have to live”
